The Unit manages the University’s flagship corporate publications and acts as the editorial custodian of the University. It is responsible for the creation, distribution and management of UKZN’s corporate publications such as the weekly UKZNdaba Online campus newsletter and the annual alumni magazine, UKZNTOUCH; crafting of news articles; editorial proofing and editing; and information dissemination through various channels. The publications created are distributed to staff, students, alumni and all external stakeholders.

The mission of the Publications Unit is to ensure that UKZN’s high public profile is maintained through editorial exposure of its expertise in teaching, research, scholarship, outreach activities and achievements; and that it communicates with the University’s various constituencies through high-quality print and online publications.
